Okay, _Persepolis_ is just wonderful. Not perfect, no, but still...wonderful. Beautiful. Wow. This gets the Michael Kennedy seal of approval, and you all know I don't just hand those out to any bum on the street.
It's at the Esquire. Go see it. It'll put a smile on your face and a lump in your throat.
Besides, if you don't I'll sew you in a burlap sack with Paris Hilton and throw you both into the Great Oatmeal Sea. Tremble, mortals! |

Qwest rep: We'll send the modem to you via UPS and it should be there on Mond...wait, it's Christmas...
Me: Yep.
Qwest rep: Okay, I have NO IDEA when it will get there.
Me: Well, at least you're honest.
Yeah, I know, Qwest sucks, but my apartments have an exclusivity contract with them. No Comcast in MY hood. Still, the rep was able to get me a 7 Mb/s connection for $20/month for six months, and $47 a month after that. I can drop it down to 1.5 for $37 a month if I don't want to spend the extra dough. And no contract! That's a fair price if the connection is worth a shit. Having to buy their modem was a little cheesy, though.
"What version of Windows are you using?" "Debian Linux." "Uh...let me get you our tech support numbers..." |

Okay, called up Amu and made reservations for 7 people at 9:00, but here's the catch: even though they're open until midnight, last call for food is at 10:00 (huh?) So the earlier everyone can get there the better. I'll probably show up at 8:30 and grab the room if I can; we can sit around and drink until any stragglers show up.
See you all there!

Heya, gang. Wanted to get a head count on folks who still want to eat at Amu Saturday night. If there's enough I will call and try to reserve the tatami room. For those who don't know, Amu is a reasonably authentic izakaya (kind of a Japanese tapas bar) in Boulder. Lots of microbrewed sake and multiple small plates of food. You can also tell them "omakase", and the chef will surprise you with courses of whatever the hell he feels like cooking that night--a meal for the adventurous. It's open until midnight, if I recall correctly. I will be up in Boulder taking (and failing) my class B wastewater certification exam--a six to eight-hour test--and was planning to eat at Amu anyway. Let me know if you'd like to join me.
I don't think I have Ka(ren) on my friends list. Could someone pass this on to her?
Thanks,
Michael |

So this is the site that's turning all our teens into homos & atheists. Can'tcha smell the brimstone?
I got a job offer today. Good: $60,000/year to operate a small wastewater plant. Bad: It's in Iraq. In the "green zone", but still... |
